Just got a chance to see your pictures, Chris. Amazing job so far! The car looks really good. Sorry you won't make the drivers school. We want you to stay safe at the convention so, "Let the Force be with you"; "Live Long and Prosper"; "Klaatu Barada Nikto", and anything else that might help.

:o)

The car is a "roller" now.

Still have to put the engine in and finish routing all the wiring and hosing. Still parts I need to get like axles and good outer CV's. Currently using a bent steering shaft just so I can "steer" the car into better position in the garage. Will throw on the good shocks when get the final stages. Looks like I might need to replace some of the sphericals on them, and one of the shocks is significantly slower than the others. Recommend sending it for a rebuild or just live with it for now?

Having Pedals in the car would be a good thing too.....but I feel so close I can taste it!

I want to apologize for the lack of updates.....I thought it be nice to share the news though.

The car is finished and competed in its first race last weekend at Blackhawk Farms!

FrankenSpec did an amazing job! Only ran into one issue all weekend, and that was just the brake bias clevas attachment to the master cylinder. That issue happened on the last session of the test day and was easily fixed. No other issues were encountered over the weekend, except moisture. I sat out sunday's race due to not having a set of rain tires.

The car was just fantastic. I was right around my times from over a year ago. Not bad for something built by myself I had to keep remind myself. I also had to keep telling myself it was a shakedown weekend and had to play it smart.

I want to thank you all for the help and support with this endeavor! Enjoy some pics!

Fantastic Livery!

Really like your treatment of the body-split lines.
Clean and very effective.
Great Job!

Cheers - Jim

I can't take much credit for nice lines. Beau put them on after unloading at the track. He kept thinking the stripes would help with the look. While at the track his exact words were, "this hurts me looking at it." So he put the pinstripes on right there. Fiberglass faded white nose, silver center, white tail...

I'm working on putting together pictures from the entire build process and will put the album up. I will even include pics of the recently mounted 15 year old mychron system too!

Car is currently in my small garage and I am ready to do some work on it over the winter to get it ready. Sending the shocks in for the Penske 4 for 3 deal is something I have to jump on.
There has been a crazy idea put in my head to attempt RunOffs this year! It is a high goal to try and achieve so we will see. Only logical deal would do the 3 majors and then do RunOffs in a Gen 3 rental....cross your finger for winning lottery numbers.

You will find that in the big field that should be at this years sprints, a well driven gen 2 is going to finish ahead of a poorly driven gen3. There also might be several gen 2's, especially if you get the word out.

I think the rules still allow gen 2's to run as gen 3's.

If so, I would do that.
