Why is this survey for existing Gen3 only? Don't we want to get it "long term" correct and include those who want to convert? All of the items except 1 will be the same....

Seat choice should also be a consideration; butler/arp vs Fiberglass.
Some still run Shelby wheels, so if you are after a comprehensive picture of weights in play, wheel choice should also be reported. Scott Cypher

Also, noting whether running new or old suspension rockers. |

It sounds like someone is reviving the old "what weight we should run the Gen 3 class" question. Simple solution: Weigh your car with you in it, at home on your scales or at track. Determine fuel on board and subtract. That is the zero fuel weight of your car, with driver. It is immaterial what your body panels weigh, your weight or what wheel or control arms you run. The important issue is the as run weight of the car. That is assuming we want to re-open this can of worms.

If we got weight reductions in Gen2, that might make split starts more tolerable since we'd be a little faster and not get hung out as quickly. I know if I was 50 lbs lighter, I probably would not have gotten lapped at Fontana this year (coming out of the last turn on the last lap). But alas, Gen2 old school so no caring. I'm feeling a little FV now, but there's still enough of us all playing by the same rules, so the only real benefit would be the deltas to the Gen3s if they are going to keep running us together. |

The only weight reduction item not available to the Gen 2 is the weight reduction of the engine conversion.

My suspicion is that is coming up because of whining about the Gen 3 being too light, so asking about the weight of the body panels makes sense (as a defense to say people can make weight if they just have lower weight body panels). Hopefully, though, that will show that there's actually room to lower the weight at least another 20 lbs...

Reminder -- take the survey. My numbers suggest the car is pretty good for a husky dude.
