Grease very good grease.

Thanks Dave! The "anailytical" in me was expecting something more complicated.

I use RedLine CV-2 and repack every 3 weekends on the left side and a little longer on the right.
The blue boots will take more heat and are nice on the inside left joint. The new "round" CV joints are OK on the inside right but are not capable of deflecting far enough for low ride heights or low camber settings. (on some cars....YMMV) (When the tri-lobe ones run out I'm in deep trouble) Some people use a straw between the boot and the axle to allow hot air to escape otherwise it will push out grease while spinning. I'm a fan of the using "British car logic"......"If it ain't leaking, it's empty" I like to see a little line of grease spun out on the transmission case after every time on track so I know it still has some in it. really? you repack them that frequently? I've gone years without repacking!

Thanks Steve! I was thinking that same thing, but I was afraid to post it and find-out how woefully negligent I've been. Ed |

Ed: you know, right about now is when Clay chimes in with a comment about my maintenence= Denny's maintenence!
and why didn't you (or Clay) show up for the rainfest? |
I didn't show-up because: (list of excuses that won't hold water here). Actually, it went something like this: My rains are in good shape and can make it through the end of this year's SOWDIV schedule. I can run "regional" in all the remaining races; therefore, I can use my existing rains for the rest of the year. On the other hand, I couldn't use them at TWS because it was N/N, so I would have had to spend $800 for rains that I don't need. |

So we can expect to see you at Hallett next month? It never rains there!

Hadn't even thought about going to Hallet since it wasn't on the SOWDIV schedule. That 10 hour tow doesn't exaclty thrill me.
