I've heard no feedback about the new windscreen. Who has tried it ... and what were your impressions? If it shaves 5 seconds off your lap times, I want to know about it!

JD has one but we have not installed yet. Why? If you are not tall or at least have a tall trunk, the screen may block your forward vision. Well, that was one of the statements made. I have yet to see one installed here in the NW(Oregon) |
Kurt et. al. Similarly I have seen the new windscreen at Alliance in Columbus Ohio but it is not yet installed. Looks like it will stick straight up just inside the front of our center section. I guess we all will have to be patient as to any benefits or otherwise. I know you are seeking an edge to get that podium position at VIR...

I installed one prior to the Sprints
Tricky to install - heat it up first to get a curve in it, then mount but my middle section was rebuilt after a crash so all I had was resin to drill into. it did not hold with the compression bolts included. I have one side zip tied and one bolt holding. Really need to modify this to use longer ? wood screws or long bolts. Other option is a 90 degree bracket and screw into the horizontal part of the fiberglass. I do think it reduces head buffeting and ? wind noise. We have not checked straight line speeds - very hard to compare as it is not easy to mount quickly. wind tunnel may be needed - we just happen to have one behind our shop in SC. NOT |

I'm 6'2" and sit "tall" in my Butler seat and have always had wind buffeting. I have had three different manufactures of helmets over the years and currently have a Stilo helmet with the additional aero aftermarket stick ons, and still have the same buffeting. I installed the windscreen mid weekend at the COTA Pro race this November. Buffeting gone! Not sure if this is killing the aero on the car but it sure keeps the wind off of the helmet.
