Almost done frame off conversion to Gen3. While adding fuel, the fuel cell fills up VERY slowlyif at all, and backs up the hose.
There is a one way flap valve on the inlet to the cell. Tonight I removed the filler hose and manipulated the rubber flapper easily with a long screwdriver. Reassembled but no help. Fuel lines and cents have been reinstalled where they were labeled. What's up? Anyone else seen rhia.?
Gen3 conversion....can't fill fuel cell!

Might you still need the tie-wrap in the overturn valve trick from back in the GEN2 days

What is this trick? I'm not a newbie to racing, but I am to SRF. |

stick a tie wrap in the overturn valve to hold it open when refueling to exhaust the air as the cell fills. Most cars have the tie wrap attached to the cap retention cable.

Thanks Steve, but I disconnected the overturn valve from the hose but the fuel in the filler neck just stayed there. Gotta be a venting issue tho. |

The flapper is on the inside - correct?
I suspect the fill and vent lines on the cell are backwards, on the vent line inside the cell has found it way to the bottom rather the near the top. BTW - been there done that for all of this |
Thanks a ton. I'll double check tonight. Hopefully I can do it from under the car on the stands....I just got it all together! Ron |

Looks like the in tank vent hose on the 90 deg bulkhead fitting was kinked. Fuel in the car, but now I have another problem - see new post in this forum.
Thanks all for the great advice - great group here helping out the SRF newbie. Ron |
