It is in the GCR..... 9.1.8.E.H "rolling of lip permitted"
|
|
Oh yeah, now I remember that one. When I read it, I sat there, rolled my mouth's lower lip under and held it that way for a few minutes. Nothing happened. It seemed odd at the time. Right, then, where's my duck bill Vise Grip? Gots me some 'luminum to roll up... |

Sunday morning - Mid-Ohio Regional
Me to crew - "Just found out it is legal to roll the lip." Crew to me - "I'll get it done when I get the car back to the shop" Hour later: My race ends, four laps in. Nose caught on lip. H.(timing is everything)B. |

For anyone who has made the mod, have you confirmed that it works as intended? And that there are no (or minimal) negative impacts?
Are people flattening it completely, rolling the top edge (think upside down "J"), some other design? Doing full width or just the middle third? |

Effective as far as I can tell, zero negative effect that I can intuit or have seen. Flatten it all the way across is my recommendation.
I truly see no reason not to do this. Hal might agree. ____________

This helps but not fool proof. If pan gets bent up at the same time as nose gets pinched down it can still hold nose closed.
