I recently had my chassis powder coated and I am now reassembling. Can anyone recommend an adhesive to go with the rivets for the aluminum panels that make up the underside skin? I've talked to racer friends that have recommended Hysol and Scotch Weld both of which are expensive and require a special applicator gun that I'll probably never use again so I'm looking for alternatives. The adhesive I removed during disassembly seemed to be nothing more than white caulk that I easily removed with a heat gun and a scraper.
Any suggestions?

The Mumm Brothers to the rescue:
http://www.mummbrothers.com/SRF_Stuff/SRFMainPage.htm They recommend T-88, all of $20 at Aircraft Spruce: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/w ... ckkey=8795 Never used it myself because I didn't build my car nor have I had to replace those panels (yet). |

They sell T88 in tubes that self mix now. You do need a very heavy duty caulk style gun to get them to work properly.

Robert,
Thanks for posting the correct link: I didn't notice that the browser address bar doesn't change as you navigate around the "Secrets" pages. Ed |

Loctite "120" Structural Epoxy - kind of expensive, I suspect.
