My understanding is Lugs are not spec. Any idea where to get longer ones.

The wheel stud was upgraded a few years ago with this one that is a little bit longer. http://www.specparts.com/axl074-wheel-stud-longer
If the SCCA part number started with a 10 instead of the 2 that this one does it would be in the (free) category. Therefore the wheel stud is not free. Steve Fenske

I have two different length lugs on my car and it has always made me nervous. The shorter ones do not penetrate the lug nuts very far. Is it standard procedure to update to all long ones? Any downside or problems to be encountered. Seems easy enough to press out old studs and put in new ones. Advice appreciated.

I have some hubs with the new long ones, most with the orig. short ones, neither is an issue.

If you put the new, long studs in an original style hub (that is, not a Fast Forward hub), don't you need to trim the heads of studs to clear the knuckle?

We do (actually whoever we got our studs from did it for us). I think the original studs only allow 3 threads to grip on the Weld wheels. We always replace them when we do bearings on a car. Dave Dave Harriman
