Enterprises bead seat shell - experiences?

I will be taking delivery of a used SRF3 (chassis # 816) in a few weeks and will need to install a new seat to fit my dimensions. My current preference is to create a "bead seat" using the new Enterprises bead seat shell but was wondering if anyone has experience with this combination? Also looked at the Butler seat option but I do not like how the ribcage portion of the seat is positioned. Do not think that location will be comfortable for my large frame size and it seems to make getting in and out of the car more difficult. Any comments or thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

I love my bead seat! We build ours from Jeff's kit at seatinserts.com. We now have them in 3 cars and love the fact that we can move our seats around to any car that has the bead seat. It has come in handy at enduros as well.

I installed a bead seat last year. I am not a small guy (270 lbs.) but it works well, the seat is very comfortable and fits tight. Glad I did it. I feel very safe with the better contouring foam around my big booty... my 2 cents YMMV

Thank you for your responses. What seat did you start off with to provide the "frame" for the bead seat in each of your applications? Logically, it would seem I have three choices for a base seat - the standard fiberglass seat, the Butler aluminum seat or the relatively new plastic(?) seat base from Enterprises seemingly designed to be used as a base for a bead seat. Since I have to buy one of those three options to use as the base for the bead seat in my car I was hoping to get an opinion on which option you thought might work best.

Brakeharder, I'm new to the SRF3 group also for this year and had to do my own seat... the previous owner / driver was a healthy gent and there wasn't any of the FG base shell left... so I formed up a box frame myself using some 1/8" wood paneling, then bought the BSCI foam seat (no beads) kit. After doing the 'pour' I removed the box framing and then used some Nascar high density foam to replace the wood box frame. I hope the pictures do it some justice... I'm 6'2" and 225 lbs. and used the XXL kit from BSCI and it was plenty. Doug Cox in Colorado
