Fuel Lines-Nylon?

What does one do when they get a new car in great shape, take it apart! I am installing a Ladder Kit, having the car apart my question is: Is there any reason to use the current heavy stainless braded fuel lines instead of the very light black Black Nylon Braided Gas Line??

I have talked one person that claims there are significant weight savings (redistribution) to be had from switching out all of the stainless braided lines at the back of the car. It is something I plan to investigate in the off season.
Does anyone know how much all of those stainless braided lines weigh? |

I did compare at one time when replacing the stainless with nylon on my full race Corvette; I don't have the numbers just tossed them about a month ago but the difference was large. I have some of each and if I have some hose that matches in size I will weigh them again. There might be some specs published somewhere, have to search. UPDATED
13" of 3/8 SSBraided hose 2 5/8oz; Nylon Braided 1 1/8oz both with no fittings. Thanks Joel |
