I'll never know for sure b/c there was a fair amount of suspension damage after the incident; but best guess is that the left rear toe link failed at the frame mount. The weld was not good, and a busted toe link there would explain the car movement. Left rear link breaking under power would result in a steerable hub, and the power would push the wheel forward (steering the tail to the right) explaining the counterclockwise rotation.

Good news is that it's all fixed and I should be racing Friday.

Re: the toy hauler, it seems like a nice option if you can travel with a light load of tools and spares (i.e. if there's a CSR there to bail you out). You get the living quarters, the car carrier, and it being a trailer, you have a detachable around-town vehicle.

Hmm, are you talking about toy haulers that do not have a wall between the cargo and living areas?

I've seen some with, some without. Depends on overall size. The theory is that you roll out the car, and that area becomes your bunk space.

I am interested in one more dimension, how tall to the top of the rollbar?

Wondering if anyone has seen one of these sliding systems in use? They can be made custom height and could be a way to get a low-profile covered trailer.

Since we are talking length, what about over all width? I too am trying to find the best enclosed trailer and know that a 16' trailer would be long enough, but what about the width? I am thinking a 7' wide trailer, but would that be enough to get the car through the back door? I am limited to 16' or shorter due to budgets and storage space. Does anyone here use this size or smaller trailer?

You need to factor in the need/ability to tie the car down once it's in the trailer. For enclosed, the width to worry about is width between the trailer fenders. (I think the cars are about 68 inches wide.)
