At bottom of trans, there is an inspection port that allows access to the flywheel. Obvious that this hole is designed to have a bolt-on cover of some kind. Is it supposed to be covered?

On my car it is open and you can see the flywheel.

there is a cover but it is something that Ford put on road cars; i recall seeing them available somewhere but don't recall where. Obviously not important.
