The Last National ever? With Majors coming up to full speed next season, this could be. And it's on the new Pocono road course, August 9-11.

Those of you who have sworn off Pocono forever may want to reconsider. Pocono management has made an extra effort to expunge the evils we came to know and hate about the joint.

-- The road course has been repaved and widened to 45 feet. Nice and smooth. Now you can take a normal, fast line into Turn One.

-- Look! FIA curbs! Look again -- no more silly cones on the pit straight leading into Turn One.

-- All the runoff areas have been graded smooth. The launch pads and water hazards are gone.

-- They've even built all-new locker rooms and showers for both men and women.

I raced there in May and it's really nice now. I hope some of you guys join us in a few weeks.
