Now there is an alternative to a Penske shock rebuild going way over budget. Enterprises is now offering a plain Penske shock with no bumper or spring perches. http://www.specparts.com/sus050p-penske-shock-plain
The price of the complete shock has dropped a little as well the price for the bumper.

This was in response to occassional complaints about rebuild costs. When your old shocks, need significant part replacements, it is probably now equal or even cheaper to just replace the shock. Both rebuilders are aware of the new price ($395 plus 6% S&H) for a shock; so neither should take a rebuild to that level without your approval. As always please communicate with the rebuilders and make your preferrences know to them.

Can someone please list Northeast-located rebuilders and contact information? I need to rebuild the shocks on my car prior to the start of the season.

Also, how much is a "run of the mill" rebuild per shock...so I can compare what they find with potential replacement.

Thank you in advance.

Another "improvement" for the new website... I have not been asked in 5-6 years about shock rebuilding and the info is just not there anymore...thank goodness for "word of mouth":

Out here we have Elfwerx...but out East we have:

James Stimola has been doing this (originally with his father) for over 10 years.
