What happened at the start? Did you over-rev (looks like you went into 1st by accident) and then the ECU cut out throttle response for a few seconds?

The driver is Whitney Strickland. I just found the video so I have no idea what happened. I was mainly noticing how powerful the flat shift is, especially at the start.

Yes, it was a "push to go to third... whoops" moment.
I was the blue 4 car under his tail when it happened. Had it happened anywhere else on track, it would have been far worse I think. From the rest of the video it seemed like the motor was making good power even after that event.

I just thought I would ask.. "what does the SRF3 with SADEV transmission weigh?"

I'm still in the middle of install, but I recall being told that it weighs 20lbs more. I don't know if this is just the transaxle alone or inclusive of the half-shafts and shift linkage.

Thanks. Back to the mis-shift...At WGI last year at the start of the race the starter delayed the green flag much longer than usual and I bumped into the rev limiter in 2nd gear a number of times. When the green finally waved I shifted into 3rd and had no power for about a 1/2 lap. Does the ECU stay in a lower power state for a while until it resets? After about 1/2 lap the motor came back and everything was normal. I just want to make sure I don't have some other problem.

I was told "Yes" when you hit and go over the rev limiter. However, I did not understand that it would take a half a lap. Rather, about 1-3seconds. I would think that if you held the TPS on way over the rev limiter, that could be another issue.
Do not take my statement as gospel. Talk with your CSR.

My quick SADEV thoughts after my first weekend with mine (Road Atlanta Super Tour).

Yes, it's expensive, and I wasn't in the "let's do this!" camp.
That being said, oh my word is it fun to drive.
Road Atlanta is now one of my favorite tracks with the SADEV.
Left foot brake before T1, bang an instantaneous downshift, back to throttle and charge up the hill, hoping to see your kids again.

Up in to T5 in 5th gear, lateral load, moderate to heavy brake, bang bang downshift and you're gone. So.much.fun.

It really is like a video game.
While that disappoints the purist dork in me... did I mention so.much.fun?

Denny - you looked like you were having fun. I thought you and Russ were going to take each other out though, going side-by-side through the esses. Congrats on the win!
