News Release

October 30, 2018
Danville, Va.

North Carolina Region, SCCA is announcing that it has just reached an agreement with VIR to hold a Goblin’s Go make-up race weekend on Saturday and Sunday December 8-9, 2018. VIR will also hold an open test day on that Friday, December 7.

Danville’s average daytime high for those dates is 53º, and December is the second driest month of the year. It is still a fall season date.

NC Region’s agreement with VIR includes a discounted track rental rate that will allow NCR the ability to offer very attractive entry fees, at levels they have not been able to offer in many years.

The event will offer dual 2019 SARRC races and qualifying sessions just as before, dual 2019 ECR races, plus 2018 Tarheel Cup finale races, and the usual Atlantic Pro Cup options. NC Region has also, just within the last 24 hours, added a modified Time Trial to the event, on the full course, on both days.

In addition, VIR is offering off-season hotel rates of $99 per night and is hinting at the possibility of a BrewFest in support of the Boys and Girls Club of Danville. There are still some details to finalize, but look for registration to open on MSR in the next few days.

If we could get Blizzaaks approved for our class, we could run regionals at Nelson Ledges again in the winter!
Let’s hope March is kinder for VIR...
