Can't believe there is no discussion just yet. Great coverage on SCCA Live of all the races.
Specific to the Gen 3 race, was an explanation given as to why the 2 waved off starts. Really had to mess with all the racer's nerves. Was an interesting start with the pinball effect unfortunately taking out a bunch of potential front runners. Also a bummer for the guys that got caught up in the entrance to madness. Can't wait to hear some of the stories from the racers once back home.
Congrats to all racers - fun to watch.

I hate to see the results change in tech. Curious to find out why.

Here's one reason the start was waived off!
Lots of surging and braking before the green- Colin was watching the starter (according to his father) and missed my braking reaction to the cars in front. Watch the rear view and notice the brake lights of Scott's car in front of me. https://youtu.be/T-QQktBFEE0 Unfortunate start that ended Colin's race and really compromised mine! Had to pit and dropped to 37th, but stayed on the lead lap with a full course caution allowing me to claw my way back into the race. Eventually finished 28th- oh well, next year! Oh, just moved up a spot with the disqualification. Congrats John!!! Hometown Mansfield boy does it again!! |

Lots of radio silence. Mentioned elsewhere was something about muffler packing but that is 3rd hand info at best. Joe Cooley

What a great week for our first ever Runoffs (until about mid race anyway). My son Max drives the #35 car. This was our first trip to Mid Ohio also. Beautiful track.
He was the third car to arrive at the Madness incident and had nowhere to go. Glad everyone was ok. Lancaster especially took a hard hit. Here is the link to our video. The incident is at the end (obviously!). https://youtu.be/8OX4CBl51Vg Thanks to the crew at Elite Autosports. Everyone was a great help. Congrats to Bobby Sak for the now second place and thanks for the coaching you have to Max. Looking forward to next year! Tony Grau |

Sorry, just realized it wasn't the Madness incident where Max, Lancaster and Paul Marino got together but instead later in the race in turn 9.

Here's my video, I wish I could have avoided hitting #49 behind Patrick #02, I think we were both gonna go outside of him since he was already injured then when we realized he was going outside I tried to go in but caught the back tire of #49 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji0YkBdzTmA

Whitney, I watched your video, fantastic recovery. I noted a big moment early in cresting T9 where you had to go full opposite lock to save the slide. (you can see my silver car waiting to get back on track after a similar slide albeit unsuccessful save). Do you think you hit something slippery there?
