I wasn't far behind when this happened. On closer look, I see that the hold-down tabs on the front of the center section were bent down (and, obviously, not securing the center section.) A bit of a PIA if you have remove the center section often, but it might prevent the total loss of the center section (and the dodge-em of the center section parts strewn over the track) if it's tied down in some fashion...
