Having just returned from Kansas Speedway, my stuff was all still out, so I did some weighing. Here is what I found.

I weighed all four tires for each combination.

2525 (old tire) on Weld rim, 4 = 110 lbs (27.5 lbs average)

2554 on Weld rim, 4 = 103 lbs (25.8 lbs average)

2554 on new Enterprises wheel, 4 = 104 lbs (26.0 lbs average)

So, the new tires average 6 to 7 lbs per set less than the old tires. The lightest combination is the Weld wheels with the new tires.

I thought that the difference was much greater, but I was comparing the Shelby style wheels to the newest wheels.

Front wheel vs. rear wheels are different weights. Front Weld is about 11, rear Shelby is 16 - that's all I have dismounted.

2554s weigh about 16 lbs, 2525s are in the high 18's.

I am getting to where I can tell by picking it up whether is a 2525 or 2554. Definitely if I pick one up in each hand. :)

Shelby rear wheel with old tire = 33lbs
New style wheel and new tire = 27lbs
Have not changed the fronts yet but expect the same 6lbs difference per corner = 24 lbs overall

Also weighed my new battery, 425 CCA , = 17lbs

Thant makes my Gen 3 Race Ready with 5 gal gas = 1347LB

Drive weighs 220lbs with gear . This is the closeat I have ever come to minimum weight. I always thought the weights were too low to achive. New body work is incredibly light compared to all the old crash repaired sections I have had over the years.
