We need to tell guys like Mikey, Brian, Beck and Denny to slow down. They are mucking up the argument.

Hal, that is priceless... Now all we need is a way for the cars(and drivers) to be checked for extra Higgs Bosons in tech.... Maybe we could just check travel data to see who's visited the Large Hadron Collider recently. Alternatively, this brings up a great idea for the new, soon-to-be wildly popular Higgs Boson Diet! C'mon Hal, let's partner up on this. We'll make a fortune. You can be the "Not a real doctor..." on the ads. I can see the tag line now..... "Do you have extra bosons? We can help" "Call now, supplies are limited!" "The first hundred callers get a free bag of neutrinos! Just pay for shipping & handling!" Jeff |

"How do I know how many neutrinos are in this bag?"
"Oh that's easy, here's some really heavy water for you to test it with!" <but that eliminates the weight advantage of the Higgs diet!?!> For the other Physics-minded dorks like me, there are more than a few GUTS jokes to go with our weight discussion and the Higgs Boson, but I will refrain. Mr. McFatterson...if that is your real name... How are Hal and I supposed to sell our snake oil if you're going to call its veracity into question? We just get the diet ready for market...and now this... Thanks a lot! Of course, we can't create a container that can actually hold neutrinos, but we also can't keep them out, so they're there, we just can't prove it without your darned underground water tank.... Guess the Higgs Diet is done. Those of you who've sent in deposits will get your money back. Interestingly, until your post I hadn't yet connected GUTS with a large gut... Too funny I'm sure I would enjoy the jokes you might have, but we can spare the community. J.(I vote for 1580#)B. |

Some tangential weight related questions:
Will we want to change springs for the lighter cars? (going from 1670# to 1550#) Will the softer Koni shocks come back into flavor? Will the sway bar dia need ot be changed? How do the GUTs account for these variables? |

in 2018 when the classes are recombined, will there be one minimum weight for all cars?
|
Interesting question. I assume it will be "yes" and the 1.9s are going to have a hard time getting down to that weight, especially with a full figured driver. |
|
They may well have different minimum weights. I think the majority of SCCA classes that include multiple car models have model-specific minimum weights to try and equalize performance. Think of all the cars that run in T1 or T2 as an example.

That's pretty much a moot point as an SRF will never be top 10 in a field with 10 Gen 3s.
